Role Description – Accountant (With Australian Accounting Experience Only)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Colombo on a full-time, on-site basis.

This role involves managing end-to-end bookkeeping, overseeing financial accounts, ensuring compliance with Australian standards, and delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly accurate, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and enhance operational efficiency.

๐Ÿ”น Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping activities
  • Oversee financial accounts and ensure compliance with standard accounting practices
  • Prepare and review GST returns (AU)
  • Handle BAS preparation and manage ATO compliance requirements
  • Process payroll and ensure timely PAYG filings
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Reconcile invoices and bills
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management reports
  • Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional client service
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance deliverables and maintain operational efficiency

  • A minimum 3 years of experience in Australian accounting is essential
  • Strong bookkeeping experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent professional qualification)
  • Strong expertise in Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Tax Compliance
  • Proficiency with accounting software and financial tools
